Lifelong fish and chips fan, Marjorie Wilkinson, celebrates her 100th Birthday at our award winning Restaurant in Bournemouth!
The 100th birthday treat was arranged for Marjorie by her grandson, Steve Ford who says;
“Although she now lives in Salisbury, Nan is originally from Sheffield so being a true Northerner, for her nothing beats fish and chips. My wife and I visited Harry Ramsden’s for dinner recently and while we were there, it struck us that this was the only place to bring Nan for her special birthday!”
Joe Teixeira, CEO of Harry Ramsden’s adds;
“Harry himself was a proud family man and a Northerner like Marjorie, so we are especially honoured that the family has chosen to spend this special time with us. However, given that she is a lifelong fan of Fish and Chips, I suspect this isn’t Marjorie’s first visit to a Harry Ramsden’s!”
Marjorie would have been just 14 when Harry Ramsden launched what was to become one of Britain’s most iconic British brands, serving generations of families with their world famous fish and chips. Indeed the Bournemouth restaurant where Marjorie’s birthday celebration took place is recognised as the world’s largest fish and chip restaurant, with seating for 417 diners.
As a momento, the team at Harry Ramsden’s presented Marjorie with a specially commissioned, framed 100th Birthday Card to mark her special day. The birthday girl herself told Harry Ramsden’s Bournemouth Manager, Alistair Amir;
“I’ve had an absolutely fantastic day, you couldn’t have done any more for me – you and everyone at Harry Ramsden’s has made me feel truly special, so thank you very much!”
